There are differences between shaving gels and shaving creams. Shaving creams are typically thick and foamy, designed to condition hair before shaving. However, we’ve found that these creams often hinder razor performance by clogging the blades, preventing them from effectively cutting hair. Consider how shaving creams cake between razor blades. This not only compromises the shaving process but can also create a breeding ground for bacteria if the razor isn’t thoroughly rinsed. 

In contrast, shaving gels are lighter and thinner, allowing residual gel to rinse off the razor easier than shaving creams. The Bump Serum not only developed a shaving gel from this concept, but we also added ingredients to clean the skin and blade throughout the shaving process, further mitigating the opportunity for bacteria to bloom. 

Additionally, our lubricants can result in less razor-to-skin contact, which minimizes the amount of trauma razors can inflict on skin during a shave. 

Since each stroke traumatizes the skin and dulls a razor blade when shaving, it’s important for users to have a lubricant that works to decrease the number of strokes over the same facial area. Paired with your preferred effective razor, you’re one out of three steps closer to a smoother shave. 

Wet the skin with warm water or opt to begin shaving within five minutes after a shower. Squeeze an adequate amount of The Shaving Gel in your hand and spread a thin layer across the  area to be shaved. With the razor of your choice, shave with the grain of the hairs using long strokes for multibladed razor, and shorter strokes for single blades. Use cold water to rinse the blade in between passes. Always remember to poke your chin outwards when shaving to assure the skin is taut and stretched. This allows the blade to glide smoother across the skin without accidentally grabbing any loose skin.
